Secrets of Glossy and Healthy Hair

Most people are pretty concerned about their hair since it has an incredible impact on the way we look. Unfortunately, whether it’s an unflattering haircut or a bleach fail, we all have periods of time when we grow out our hair and take extra care of it, and we all wonder how some people manage to have healthy and glossy hair all the time. Well, they know some secrets. So, what are the secrets of perfect hair? Let’s talk about it in this article.

Silk pillowcase

Most people do not realize that their pillow mechanically damages their hair when they peacefully sleep at night, especially if they fall asleep with wet hair. But that problem can be easily solved if you use silk pillowcases. Of course, they are pretty costly, but the results are totally worth the high price tag. Plus, silk pillowcases are not only good for your hair but also help minimize wrinkles on your face, so make sure to give them a try.

Heat protectant

For some reason, a lot of people just ignore heat protectants because they think that these products are pointless. Well, they aren't. Heat protectants do work, and they help reduce the damage from blow drying and styling your hair. So, if you still don’t have a heat protectant spray, buy it immediately because it’s a must-have every person who dreams of shiny and healthy hair has to use.

Rinsing with cold water

Lastly, to make your hair glossy, you need to get used to cold water. First of all, washing your hair with hot water is extremely unhealthy. But most importantly, rinsing your hair with cold water will make it glossy and healthy since cold water helps close the hair cuticles. Therefore, if you really want your hair to be shiny, you need to learn how to cope with cold water.

No air drying

We are used to the idea that high temperatures are unhealthy for our hair, and that’s true, but not entirely. You see, when it comes to drying our hair, air drying is way more unhealthy than blow drying. The thing is, the longer your hair is wet and its cuticles are expanded, the more it gets damaged, even by the slightest touch. In fact, multiple studies have proven that blow drying at moderate temperatures is way less unhealthy than air drying, so if you want glossy hair, make sure to switch to blow drying.

Leave-in conditioner

You have probably noticed that when a hairdresser blows dry your hair after you have it cut or dyed (or both), it looks way better than when you do it yourself at home. Well, that’s mostly because hairdressers use leave-in conditioners and hair oils. These products give amazing shine, detangle your hair, as well as protect it from mechanical damage, and they do not cost a fortune, so you can definitely afford one. Just try it, and you will see everything for yourself.

Cut off split ends

Long hair is beautiful, but it’s only beautiful as long as it’s healthy. Yet still, a lot of people refuse to cut split ends because they want to save the length. In fact, that only makes your hair look messy and unhealthy, and it’s better to have shorter but healthier hair. Thus, do not hesitate to cut off all the split ends, and your hair will be thick, shiny, and healthy.

Wrapping up

As you can see, there are not so many secrets of shiny hair, and pretty much all of them are easy to do. So make sure to remember all the tips we talked about in this article and implement them into your hair care routine.
